Fun with the Kiddos

This is one of the layouts my Scrapbooking Clubs got to create in June. I was so excited to show them all brand new products since the release of the new catalog was June 1st!!

This layout uses Floral District DSP, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Rose Red, Baja Breeze & Whisper White Card Stock, Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Naturals Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Betsy's Blossoms Stamp Set, Letter It Alphabet Stamp Set, 2 1/2" Circle Punch and my Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim xl Die, Blossom Party Originals Die & Apothecary Accents Framelits.

To give my flower a little dimension I used our Bone Folder and lightly curled the petals inward.

When applying your scallop boarder make sure to not adhere the top part of it so you can tuck your photos behind it.

Super cute and super fun layout!! Everyone loved it and it was really easy to put together really fast!!

Have a great day!!

Colorful Paper Flowers

AND some Stampin' Up! Convention Highlights. All these pictures where taken on Wednesday, bag pick-up day. We can head on over to the Convention Center on this day to pick up our lovely new bag, shop at Momental Mall, take a bus to the home office for a tour, visit the awards booth and of course catch up with all our stampin' friends.

Here is Robin and myself getting our first of hundreds of pictures. I believe we have taken a picture like this from the very first time we meet each other, on my very first trip to Founder's Circle in 2008.

I actually found the very first picture we took like this:

Boy have we changed!!! You can view more pictures from my very first Founder's Circle Trip HERE.

More awesome ladies we just LOVE!!! Here we are pictured with Susie Wood.

And Kimberly Van Diepen.

This picture was taken at the home office. They have this building decorated so stinkin' awesome!!!

Then we did some swapping. Robin organizes a swap group called Go Divas and we do an organized swap at all the Stampin' Up! Events and some mail in swapping too. I just loved all the 3D items I got in that swap and our card swap was awesome too!!

Here I am pictured with the ubberly talented Diana Gibbs and great friend!! Love her!!

This is a picture of the ladies that swapped with us at Convention. Robin hand selects these ladies, keeps a Yahoo Group for us and only allows no more then 30 ladies to swap in any given swap. That way we always know that we will not have to do more then 30 swaps at one time.

Now on to some crafty goodness:

This was one of the cards I did recently in my Heat Embossing Class. I wanted to show them that they can heat emboss on other items besides just card stock. This card uses Whisper White & Basic Black Card Stock, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, White Bakers Twine, Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Lucky Limeade 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Paper Daisies, Tangerine Tango & Melon Mambo Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Gun and my Big Shot with the Finishing Touches Edgelits & Chevron Embossing Folder.

What I did was rub the tips of the flowers on to my VersaMark Ink Pad, dipped the tips into the  colored embossing powder and then heat set them with the heat gun.

I hope you enjoyed a small look at Convention and a twist on Heat Embossing.

Have a great day!!

Happy Day to You

I am here in Salt Lake City, UT for Stampin' Up!'s annual Convention!!! We, Robin and I, are getting ready to head out the door to start our day!! Thought I would pop in here to let you all know where I am and to show you something creative. I did this card for my Heat Embossing Class I held a couple of weeks ago. It was a huge hit (the class and the this card!!).

We used Primrose Petals, Baja Breeze & Whisper White Card Stock, Hello, Doily Background Stamp, Friendly Phrases Stamp Set, Basic Rhinestones, Primrose Petals Stitched Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun and Sponge Daubers.

Everyone just loved this technique, Emboss Resist. First stamp your image using VersaMark Ink, pour your White Embossing Powder over the ink and heat with our new Heat Gun. Then starting in the middle rub your ink onto card stock using a Sponge Dauber. Continue until the Whisper White is all blue. Take a paper towel and wipe your card stock off. The Doily really "pops" with this technique!!

Well we are off to Convention. Have to go pick up our brand new bags and see all my Stampin' Best Buds!!!!

Have a great day!!

I just wanted to let you all know everything it fine here and I am sorry there is no Crafty Picks today. I am trying to get ready for Stampin' Up!'s Convention and I leave in just two days. So much to do with so little time!! I will also be going straight to Florida after Convention for a week long vacation with my family so there will be no picks next Sunday either. When I return home My Crafty Picks will resume.

Popping Flowers

This is one of the projects that my VersaMarker Class ladies got to make. I held the class back in April and am just getting around to showing you all the projects we made. We also did this CARD and this LAYOUT. Everyone loved the class and are sad that the VersaMarker is now retired from Stampin' Up!

This card uses the now retired Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, Crumb Cake & Cherry Cobbler Card Stock, Victoria 5/8" Crochet Trim, VersaMarker, Heat Tool and White Embossing Powder.

All you need to do to get this effect is to Emboss your image and then using the VersaMarker color in different petals of the flowers. For a more bold effect you can color the whole flowers. I did take inspiration from a card I saw on Stampin' Connection but can't find it now.

Have a great day!

Swappin' With My Diva's

Are you loving all the brand new stuff in the new Stampin' Up! Catalog? I know I am and in less then 3 weeks they will be coming out the Holiday Mini!!! Such exciting times!! And let me tell you the Holiday Mini is not MINI!!! Just wait until you see it!!

Well anyway back to my card, my dear dear friend, Robin Merriman, has a swap group that she put together called the Go Diva's. We try and swap each time a new catalog, mini or event comes up. I just love swapping with these talented ladies!! I always know that I will get quality swaps back and look forward to seeing them. Robin put together a swap for the products in the preview order of the new catalog that demonstrators could order before the catalog went live on June 1st, product that anyone received on the Disney Incentive Trip or product anyone received while at Leadership in January.

This is the card I did for the swap. I got some inspiration from another friend, Jenny Peterson. I just love her style!! This card uses the International Bazaar DSP, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake & Whisper White Card Stock, Naturals Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Color Spritzer, Everything Eleanor & World Treasurers Stamp Sets and by Big Shot with the 3" Circle Originals Die, Labels collection Framelits & Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.

I just love the look of these new In Colors and new products together!! It is going to be a great year full of awesome new product!!

Let me know if you would like your very own copy of the Holiday Mini that comes out August 1st!! I would love to send one to you.

Have a great day!!

Love in Hawaii

Here is a layout I did for a class I offered on using the VersaMarker. I held the class and the next month Stampin' Up! announced that they were going to retire this item. I was rather bummed with that news!! Well anyway everyone that took the class just loved all the projects we did and loved learning how to use this overlooked item.

This layout used the Color Coach for the color combo I put together. I used Bravo Burgundy, Pink Pirouette & Sahara Sand Card Stock, First Edition Specialty DSP, P.S. I Love You Stamp Set, Mat Pack, VersaMarker, Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Vintage Trinkets, Full Heart Punch and my Big Shot with the Lots of Love Letterpress Plate, Labels Collection Framelits & Tasteful Trim xl Die.

The picture does not do this layout justice!!! It looks amazing in person!! First we punched four hearts out of the DSP using the Full Heart Punch, layered them on top of each other and insert the safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets to hold all layers together. Just glue down the bottom layer and "fluff" the other layers.

Using the Big Shot and the Lots of Love Letterpress Plate I colored the bit "Love" using the VersaMarker then ran it through the Big Shot. The Letterpress Plate embosses the card stock and the VersaMarker makes the word appear darker.

We also used the VersaMarker with the paper-piercing template from the Mat Pack to make these dots at the corner of this picture. This was a fun added accent to our layout.

This picture was taken while Jon and I were on our first Incentive Trip with Stampin' Up! We got to go to Hawaii!!! WOW!!!

Have a great day!!

A Birthday Blast

Here is a card I made for a friend of mine. She requested a Fourth of July Birthday Card. I do like how this card turned out, so much fun going on here!!

This card uses some retired items from Stampin' Up! (oldies but goodies that I kept), Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red & Whisper White Card Stock, Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and my Big Shot with the Bitty Banners Framelits.

I stamped the star image several times on to the Whisper White Card Stock and also punched some out. I layered them on top of the stamped images using our Stampin' Dimensionals. Makes for a fun effect!!

I hope everyone has been staying cool during this terrible heat wave we have had. In our neck of the woods we didn't even get to see any fireworks during the Fourth of July because of the heat and no rain. It has not rained here until yesterday and before that it was back in April when we got some. With no rain and triple digit heat it has made for a very hot summer!!

Have a great day!!
