Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #230

Hey everyone!! Time for an awesome sketch challenge? If you have never participated in one they are so much fun!! Sketches really help me get my juices flowing!! If you don't think you are a sketch person just give it a try!! Jump in with both feet, arms wide open and embrace sketches. Lets get started!!

First, take a sketch. We have just awesome straight forward sketches over at the Stamping 411 Blog that you will just love and feel comfortable with. The Stamping 411 Blog is not only about sketches either. If you haven't checked us out hop on over to our blog (after you read all the way to the bottom of my post. hehehehehe).

Second, you will want to pick your theme for your card (or whatever you are creating with the sketch). For my card I needed a baby girl card for my sister so that is where I started:

1. Sketch #230 from Stamping 411
2. Theme: Baby Girl Card

Third, you will want to pick your color scheme. This also goes hand in hand with your theme. Since I was creating a baby girl card I decided to pull out our DSP, Nursery Nest, and go with the color scheme that would suit a baby girl card.

3. Color Scheme

We also do a color challenge on our blog too, but there are lots of other blogs and websites out there that put out color challenges too. You can always combine one of those challenges with a sketch challenge.

Fourth, decide on your stamps, message that you want to use for this card. Stampin' Up! does an awesome job with our Idea Book & Catalog with hundreds and hundreds of samples that can be CASE'd for any project you are working on. For my card here I took some inspiration from the project on page 82. On the scrapbook layout in the top right hand spot I used their idea of the baby crib with the heart on it with added bling. Just too stinkin' cute!!!

4. Stamps, message for card/project.

As you can see even veteran stampers, as myself, use lots of help getting their creations come to life. I am always browsing through magazines, the internet and Stampin' Up! material looking for all kinds of inspiration. You just never know when something will strike your fancy!!

For my card I used the Nursery Nest DSP, Blushing Bride, Basic Grey & Whisper White Card Stock, Blushing Bride 1/2" Stitched-Poly Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Curly Label & Small Heart Punches, Little Additions Stamp Set and my Big Shot with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder & Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die.

Now to recap on the steps you take to create your creation:
1. Sketch
2. Theme
3. Color Scheme
4. Stamps/message

Now head on over to the Stamping 411 Blog to check out the other Operators to see what they did with this same sketch. I am sure they will not disappoint!! While you are there you should play along. We love to see all the different creations using the same sketch and that is lots more inspiration for you!!

Have a great day!!
