First Day of School

Can you believe my kiddos went back to school today?? I can't!!

Here they are: my freshman, Kaitlyn, my 6th grader, Griffen and my 4th grader, Jordan. And this means that I now have one child in each school this year!! Kaitlyn is in the High School, Griffen is in the Middle School and Jordan is in the Elementary School. I am sure we will be busy busy this year!!

And now on to some very sad news we received yesterday. A family that is part of our family (siblings are married and have been married to my husbands siblings) lost their oldest son, 21, to a logging accident. Please keep this family and our families in your thoughts and prayers while we all go through this difficult time.

I made the above card last night (and others that I will be sharing with you too) for the parents of the young man that lost his life. I know there is nothing we can say or do that will bring their son back but the support and prayers from us can at least comfort them in some way.

I used the Color Coach for my color combo for this card. I used River Rock, Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler & Very Vanilla Card Stock, Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Natural Hemp Twine, French Foliage, On the Grow & Field Flowers Stamp Sets and my Big Shot with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.

To make the ribbon look this way I cut the ribbon in half and frayed it. I think it turned out pretty cool looking!!

Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time in our lives.

Tiffany, this is truly a beautiful card. I am sure that your support means so much to the parents who have lost their son.

Sad to lose a young man in the prime of his life, and your card certainly reflects your sadness. It's like the flowers are in a sea of tears.
