Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #202

We have another awesome sketch for all of you over at the Stamping 411 Blog. I hope lots of you will join us, we have so much fun!!

Since Mother's Day is this weekend and I needed a card for my mom I used this week's sketch to complete that task!! Love it when you can tackle two birds with one stone!!

So what do you think? We have had so much rain lately that we have not seen the sun in a LONG TIME so I wanted to play with lots and lots of bright colors!! The brand new Beyond the Garden DSP in the Summer Mini is PERFECT!! Can you say BRIGHT??

I also used Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo & Pacific Point Card Stone, 5/8" Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, Basic Pearls, Scallop Border & Decorative Label Punches, Gold Glow Smooch Spritz, Sticky Sheets and my Big Shot with the Circles #2 Originals Die, Fun Flowers L Die & Island Floral Bigz Die.

Just look at this big ole flower!!! I love using the Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot. I cut the different sized flowers in different DSP or Card Stock for a fun flower!! For the middle of this flower I used our Sticky Sheets to cut out the smallest circle on the Circles #2 Die using the Big Shot. I stuck it done in the middle of this flower. Using the 5/8" Satin Ribbon I started in the middle by sticking down the end of the ribbon and then started twisting the ribbon and sticking it down in a circular motion. Just continue until you get to the outer edge of the sticky circle.

And aren't those pearls yummy?? Love how they added to this card and that Smooch Spray is AWESOME!!! This card is so sparkly gold in person!! I also sprayed the whole flower too!! I am sure my mom will love this card!!

Make sure you head on over to the Stamping 411 Blog to check out the other Operators cards and while you are there play along with us!! We would love to see what you come up with!!

We leave in 1 week and 6 days!!!

Just a little question...how do you get the ribbon to stay stuck to the sticky strip when you do the gathered treatment? For me it stays about one day, but then it starts to come loose and if I just leave it, soon it is hanging off in great sections. Do you have any ideas? Does the type of ribbon you use matter? I generally use grosgrain. I have also tried glue dots with similar, though less dramatic results.

Your card is lovely, by the way. I just love the brightness of the yellow and the colour combinations!
