A Mother's Love

Are you a Scrapbooker? I LOVE to sit down and scrapbook but I really need to do more of it!! I love just looking through older pictures and find myself doing more of that then actually scrapping them!!LOL!!! These pictures below are pretty old ones considering my baby is now going to be 8 years old. Time sure does fly!!
For this layout I used Sweet Pea DSP Paper Stack, Rose Red, Old Olive & Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Scallop Trim Border, Eyelet Border & Full Heart Punches, the stamp sets called Sweetheart, I {Heart} Hearts & Whimsical Words and my Big Shot with the SU Timeless Type Alphabet.

I just love making these heart flowers!! Too stinkin' cute!!

And to make this Paper Lace you use a 1 1/4" x 12 strip of cardstock, punch it with the Eyelet Border Punch and distress it with a Bone Folder. I run the Bone Folder down the strip of cardstock about three times and then run it down on the opposite side. This breaks the fibers in the cardstock making it very easy to work with. This also will pull the sheets of cardstock apart so be kind of careful. I then will ink the edge with a Sponge Dauber. On the reverse side of the cardstock I will run a strip of adhesive either using Sticky Strip or Snail Adhesive and starting on the left hand side of my layout start sticking the cardstock to the layout and as you go just keep folding over yourself. For this layout I ended up using two pieces of cardstock. To finish the look I added the Old Olive strip of cardstock but other times I just use ribbon. I found this technique and a video on Kimberly Van Diepen's Blog. She is one talented lady and a sweetheart too!!

Have a super day!!

UDI Sketch Challenge #72

Here we are for another UDI Sketch and once again we will be linking to each of the ladies blogs at the bottom so you can visit all of us to see what each of us did with our sketch Carol gave us to work with. AND Carol gave us an added challenge along with this sketch. We were to try and use rub ons on our project. I was actually very excited when I read that because I buy every rub on packet Stampin' Up! offers but have I used any of them?? That would be a great big fat NO!!! I do love them but just never think to pull them out and use them!!!LOL!!!!
This card ONLY uses rub ons and I am really excited about that!!!! I started with Basic Black & Very Vanilla Cardstock, Basic Black 5/8" Satin Ribbon, the now retired Cherished Memories rub ons in black, 5/16" Very Vanilla Jumbo Brad, Paper Piercing Tool and my Big Shot with the Circles #2 Originals Die & SU Lots of Tags Sizzlits 4-pack Die.

I am really happy how this card turned out and think I just might be pulling these rub ons out more often!! Now head on over to Carol's Blog and see what she did with this great sketch. Make sure you keep visiting until you get back to me. That way you will know if you hit all the blogs on our list.

Have a great day!!

Stamping 411-Challenge #140

Ready for another great sketch weekend?? I have an awesome sketch for you today from Stamping 411 and will have another one posted later from UDI.
Selene never lets us down with our sketches!! This is another great one and is pretty wide open. I love that about Selene's sketches!!

I used the oh so yummy Sending Love Specialty DSP, Real Red & Pretty in Pink Cardstock, Real Red Corduroy Buttons, Playground Designer Buttons, the stamp set called Teeny Tiny Wishes, Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon and my Big Shot with the SU Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder.

To make your flower like this I just punched out three flowers using the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, spritzed them with water and then wadded them up. After adhering them together I briefly used my Heat Gun to dry the flowers. This makes them stiff and stay in place.

Now for this cool trick for the buttons. Patti Chesky actually told me about this while we were at the Phoenix Regional. Thanks Patti!! Just take some very small pieces of scrap DSP and thread it through your button holes. I adhere it on the back side of the button and you have a finished button. Cool huh??
Make sure you hop on over to the Stamping 411 Blog and play along with us this week!!! And while you are there check out what the other Operators did with this weeks sketch.
Have a great day!!

Bloggers Challenge #140-Bags or Boxes

Wow it is the last Friday of February!! This year sure is going by fast!! Since it is Friday I have another Bloggers Challenge for all of you and our group mom, Lisa, challenged us to make a bag or box. My project was one I did for Valentine's Day and I thought I would share it with all of you.
This little hanging box can hold some candy along with a gift card or even some money. Now that is the kind of box I like!!!
I started with the Big Shot and the Bigz Die called Petal Card. I ran my Kraft Cardstock through the machine cutting two of these Petal Cards and then lining up a 1/2" from one of the score lines I cut off one of the folds using my trimmer. I did this again with the fold right next to the one I just cut off. This makes the heart shape and little flaps you can glue both cards together with. Attaching your Real Red 5/8" Satin Ribbon using your Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes you make it into a hanging box. I also used the background stamp called En Francais, the stamp set called I {Heart} Hearts & Messages for Mom, Heart to Heart Punch and Sponge Daubers.

This project is actually a CASE of a project I saw on Stampin' Connection, a NING Community for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators. Yet another awesome reason to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!!
Make sure to check out the other ladies in this Bloggers Challenge Group to see what they came up with!!

Have a great day!!
