Calendar Fun!!

At the end of October I was asked to join a 6x6 Calendar Swap hosted by Max, she is our Queen Bee over at the UDI Blog, a SAM with Stampin' Up! and an all around awesome lady!!
I have actually never even bought our Days-To-Remember Calendar so I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to showcase this project to all my customers. I quickly responded to Max with a YES and picked my month I wanted to do. Here is the 6x6 page I did for the calendar and the month topper for the date side of the calendar. I can't wait to get all the months back from Max and get my calendar put together!!
I used the Cast-A-Spell DSP, Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Natural Hemp Twine, Spritzer Tool, the stamp sets called House of Haunts & From the Crypt, 1 1/4" & 1" Circle Punches and my Big Shot with the Stampin' Up! Alphabet Simple Letters Bigz Die & the Naturally Serif Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die.

On this layout I already added my picture of my kids from this year trick or treating but on the ones I sent Max I left the photo mat empty for their own picture.

These were fun to make and I can't wait to finish the rest of the months!! I am really thinking about making this a Calendar Class in January so if you are interested please let me know!!

Have a great day!!

UDI Sketch Challenge #59

It is time for another Sketch Challenge over at the UDI Blog and this one was a fun one!! I needed to make an extra special birthday card for my mom whose birthday is Monday, November 30th. She will be 60 this year. She sure does not look it or act like she should be 60 years old!!
This card is so simple but elegant looking!! I really do hate that this ribbon is now retired!! This is one of my all time favorite In Colors that Stampin' Up! has had, Riding Hood Red.
I started with a Very Vanilla Cardstock base, added a strip of Riding Hood Red Cardstock. I then took a strip of Very Vanilla Cardstock, paper pierced it using our Paper Piercing Tool and the Paper Piercing Template from the Mat Pack and then using the Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit I distressed the top and bottom edges. I tied the card with our now retired Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and used a Very Vanilla 5/8" Jumbo Brad in the center of the bow. For my sentiment I used our Word Window punch and the Chit Chat Rub-Ons in Chocolate Chip.

I believe my mom will just love her card!! AND I am sure she will have an awesome birthday too!!! We all love you mom!!!!

Make sure you check out the UDI Blog and see what everyone else has done with this same sketch.

Have a great day!!

Stamping 411-Challenge #127

We over at Stamping 411 have another awesome sketch for you all AND we are offering up great Blog Candy!! Just head on over to Stamping 411 and just leave us a comment on this POST to be entered for a chance to win one of seven different prizes. Also, if you haven't started playing along with us each week make sure you do!! We just LOVE seeing what everyone does with our sketches!!
What I love about our sketches is that you can either use them to give you guidance for a card or a scrapbook layout!! AND you all know I just love to scrapbook so anytime a sketch screams at me "this would be an awesome layout" I just have to try my hand at it!! I hope you all like what I came up with!!

My layout uses Dusty Durango Patterns DSP & Cardstock, Scallop Border Punch, Natural Hemp Twine, Dusty Durango Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, the background stamp called Tres Chic, On Board Timeless Type Alphabet, Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit, Crimper and the Circle Scissor Plus.

I just love stamping on plain chipboard like I did for this layout. I also used a Sponge Dauber and added Close to Cocoa Ink to the edges.

Try adding ribbon or twine to your layouts in interesting ways like I did here by wrapping my twine around my ribbon.

Like the way I added a scallop all around my 6" circle? What to know how I did it?? I will be posting either a video or picture tutorial on this soon so make sure to check back often!!

I hope you all liked my creation this week with this awesome sketch and decide to play along!! AND don't forget to visit us for a chance at seven different Blog Candy give-a-ways. You have until Monday, November 30th to enter for your chance to win.

Have a great day!!

Bloggers Challenge #127-Alter It

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. I know we had a great time just spending time with each other!! Now for Black Friday and believe me I will be staying in on this HUGE shopping day just relaxing!! And since it is Friday again I have a Bloggers Challenge to share with everyone!! This week we were challenged to "alter it" and boy do I have a great gift idea for everyone!! Stampin' Up!'s Decor Elements make such inexpensive awesome gifts for any occasion!!
I started with a set of glass coasters you can purchase just about anywhere for under $10 and Stampin' Up!'s Decor Elements called Inspiration which come in a set of four words. The set I went with is Small in Chocolate. I also used a Rose Red Flower that as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I was able to order as a bulk buy supply item. The only other thing I used was some Rose Red 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

Here they are all layed out and below are pictures of them individually. They turned out too darn cute and what a great gift idea I have already made up and just waiting for me to wrap up!!

Make sure to check out the other ladies on this awesome group to see what they decided to "alter" for this challenge!! Thanks for stopping by today and everyday to check out what I have been up to in the creating world!!
Have a great day!!

Utah Diva Sketch Challenge #57

Here is to week #2 with the UDI Sketch Team!!! I am having alot of fun with these sketches and the added bonus is our leader, Carol, adds a challenge to some of the sketches like last week we were challenged to use punches and this week we are challenged to use window sheets. I really like this added bonus because it makes me pull out something I might now have thought to use or even used at all!!

For my card I used Night of Navy & Brocade Blue (which was inspired by the Color Coach) Cardstock, Printed Window Sheets called Snowfall from the Holiday Mini that I am embaressed to say I had not even opened yet, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and the stamp sets called Cold & Cuddly & Perfect Chemistry.

I used a regular old toothpick for his flag. Too stinkin' cute!!

I hope lots of you will check out the UDI Blog, check out what everyone else did with this sketch plus added bonus and decide to play along!! I would love to see what you come up with so leave me a comment telling me that you tried our sketch and I will hop on over and check out your masterpiece!!
Have a great day!!
