Bloggers Challenge #123-Theme Halloween

Another week another Bloggers Challenge. This Friday for Bloggers Challenge we had the theme Halloween. This one makes me soooo happy!!! I just LOVE Halloween!! I am not one for going over board decorating our house or dressing up for the holiday but I just love this holiday. I think the number one reason I love it so much is that my son, Griffen, was born on this holiday 10 years ago!!

Is he not the cutest little boy?? I guess he is not so little anymore!!! Boy how time flies, seems just like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital!! Anyway Happy Birthday Bud (tomorrow)!!!

Griffen is actually having his birthday party tonight with some of his friends over for a bonfire/sleepover and he wanted me to make his birthday invitations for him. He had requested Dracula invites. Okay I thought easy enough, just google Dracula and go from there. He liked him when I was done but thought his friends might laugh at our Dracula. He knew I had done a Frankenstein last year at this time and said he would just go with him since he looked better.

I decided to share both with you so let me know which one you like better. I really think they both are too darn cute!!!! But then again it is Halloween and we don't want cute do we???LOL!!!!

Both Dracula and Frankie pictured here. I told you they were cute didn't I???

I made Frankie and Mrs Frankie candy boxes last year for Halloween. You can see them HERE. I used Green Galore & Brilliant Blue Cardstock, Round Tab, 1" Circle, 1/2" Circle & My Way Punches, uni-ball Signo Gel Pen, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and my Big Shot with the Top Note Bigz Die.

On the backside of Frankie I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and attached it to Frankie. I used the stamp set called Graveyard Gala so I could fill it out with all his information for his birthday party.

For Dracula I used Ballet Blue, Real Red & Basic Black Cardstock, Large Star, 1 1/4", 3/4", 1/2" & 1/4" Circle Punches, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and my Big Shot with the Top Note Bigz Die.

I think they both turned out too darn cute!!! Let me know which one you like better and I am sure the boys all liked Frankie but I will find out tonight when they all come over!!

Have a great day!!

twick or tweet

Are these not fun?? I think they are the cutest little candy pouches around!! AND they are sooooo easy to make!! All you need is the Big Shot, Petal Card Die, Cardstock and of course your favorite candy and you have a cool little candy pouch to give to all your little trick-or-treaters this weekend!!
These use two different DSP's called Cast-A-Spell & Nouveau Chic, Basic Black, Old Olive & Sage Shadow Cardstock, Old Olive & Sage Shadow 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4", 1 3/8" & 1" Circle Punches, Stampin' Pastels, the stamp set called Twick or Tweet and your Big Shot with the Petal Card Bigz Die. I just love using our Big Shot Dies in different ways then how they were intended to be used. This die makes a cute little Petal Card shown HERE but instead I folded the left & right sides in and then folded the bottom side up, secured with some Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive and then added my belly band around the pouch. Too cute and fun to make!!!!

We made these cute little candy pouches at this months My Crafty SisTAHS group meeting at my house. I always try to come up with a cute fun project to show my downline so they can take it home with them and use at a workshop or gathering.

We only have 2 days until Halloween, are you ready??

Have a great day!!

Late Night Stampers Challenge #43

It is time for another week of Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group Challenges!! This week our Challenge #43 is Candy Everywhere!!
With Halloween right around the corner, and all the stores carrying my favorite candy, my mind seems to be stuck in a permanent sugar high. This week design a card using only the colors found in your favorite candy wrapper. Examples of color combinations would be: Snickers- Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Night of Navy and Real Red. Reese's: Only Orange, Summer Sun, Chocolate chip. or Twix- Gold, Real Red, Whisper White, and Basic Black. With millions of types of candy available the color choices are endless! Don't forget to use 100% current Stampin' Up! on all projects, we can't wait to see what you come up with!!

So with this Yummy Challenge I pulled out my all time favorite candy, 100 Grand!! Love that candy bar and the only time I get to eat them is at Halloween!!

My candy bar wrapper screamed Real Red, Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip. I started with a Chocolate Chip Card base then layered a piece or Real Red Cardstock and then a Summer Sun piece of Cardstock after I ran it through my Big Shot using the Texture Plates Kit #4. I also distressed the edges of my Summer Sun Cardstock using the Distressing Took from the Cutter Kit. I also used the Real Red 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the very cute Gobble, Gobble single stamp that is in the Holiday Mini.

Do you see that my Turkey is colored with the three colors in my card? You are probably wondering how I did that aren't you?? Well I used our Sponge Daubers and started with the Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. I sponged this color onto the body of the Turkey, then going to the Real Red I sponged that color on the base of the feathers and finished off the outer feathers with Summer Sun. After huffing on the stamp I stamped him onto Whisper White Cardstock. He turned out too stinkin' cool!!!

I hope you all LOVE candy and have an all time favorite that you can draw some inspiration from!! I would love to see what you all come up with for this YUMMY Challenge!! Make sure to visit our Yahoo home page found HERE to join in on the fun this week!!

Have a great day!!

Scary Pumpkin Faces!!

I wanted to share with you all today some Decor Elements Halloween Decor I made for this scary holiday!! Are these pumpkin faces not the scariest....cutest things ever?? I just love these and they are such an awesome deal!! You get three different faces in black for only $4.95, item #117568 called Spooky Expressions!! That's right, what a steal!!!

I am only showcasing two of the three faces you get with this pack. I applied them to these colored metal pieces that already had the holes in them. With the holes already in the metal I decided to use our gorgeous 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive. I really love how they turned out and now have great decorations for Halloween for years to come!!

On the Old Olive Ribbon I had a mishap and accidentally snipped a piece of my ribbon!! Boy was I mad at myself because I did this after I had it all threaded through and tied!!! After thinking about what to do I decided to just start snipping the rest of the ribbon and make it look like I meant to do it!! Always a way to cover up a mistake!!LOL!!!

Have a great day!!

Stamping 411-Challenge #122

Another week goes by and now we have another awesome sketch for you over at Stamping 411!! Go check out what the other operators did with this great sketch but before you leave me check out the two projects I did using this sketch!! I did a card AND a sketch for you all to get your creative juices flowing!!
Leave me a comment and let me know if you like my creations AND if you like my brand new blog design!! I can't wait to hear from all of you!!

For my card I started with a Pumpkin Pie 5x5 base that fits perfect in our Medium Square Envelopes. I took a piece of cardstock and cut it to 5x10, then turning my cardstock I scored my cardstock at the 5" mark so when I folded it it would make a 5x5 card. That easy!!
I also pulled out some Old Olive & Very Vanilla Cardstock, Cast-A-Spell DSP, Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch and the stamp sets called From the Crypt & Holiday Best.

For my saying I stamped it first in my Old Olive Classic Ink Pad, took a Blender Pen, removed the Old Olive Ink from the pumpkin and using my Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker I colored the pumpkin in. Then huffing on the stamp I stamped my image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. Love doing this technique!!

I also decided to use this sketch and make a 12x12 layout. Love using sketches for both cards and layouts!! AND this is also a sneak peak at one of the eight 12x12 layouts some of you will be doing at our Seasonal Scrapbooking Event on November 14th.

This layout starts out with a 12x12 Bashful Blue Cardstock, Bashful Blue Patterns DSP, a 3x12 piece of Whisper White Cardstock torn into two pieces. I used the 2-Way Glue Pen, applied it to the tops of the Whisper White Cardstock and then added the Dazzling Diamonds. I also used the stamp set called Serene Snowflakes, a brad out of the Styled Silver Hodgepodge Hardware and the Big Shot with the Snowflake #2 Originals Die & Naturally Serif Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die.

I just love how the Dazzling Diamonds and torn cardstock turned out!! Looks like real snow!!LOL!!!

Now that you have seen my projects you can now hop on over to the Stamping 411 Blog and check the other operators out!!! AND while you are there you can link to your project using Mr. Linky to show us what you did with this awesome sketch!!

Have a great day!!

Bloggers Challenge #122-No Layers

I just don't know where the week goes?? It is Friday again and time for another Bloggers Challenge!! And this week was to make a No Layers Card. Boy is this one of the hardest things to do!!! I am one that is ALL about the layers!!LOL!!! Well I tried my hand at it so I hope you like it!!
Since I was doing no layers I decided to keep my card very simple and I do like how it turned out but boy was I trying to add some of those layers!!
For my card I used Whisper White as my card, the stamp set called Berry Christmas, Real Red 1" Double-Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, Corner Rounder Punch and the Designer Buttons called Playground.
Very simple don't you agree?? Make sure you check out the other ladies in this awesome creative group by clicking on my Bloggers Challenge icon on my sidebar. AND how do you like the new look??
