This Friday's challenge with Bloggers Challenge is to Alter It. When I saw this challenge I knew instantly what I wanted to alter!! I purchased a ton of these skinny empty tins from Stampin' Up! when they had their huge Inventory Sale for Demonstrators only about a month ago. These skinny tins are now available to customers on my online store HERE. They are such an awesome deal and will not last long!!
I have been itching to play with my brand new Build-A-Bear stamps and dies for the Big Shot so I decided to make these little gifts for little girls that can keep them busy!! They are little crayola sets that they can color some of the images from the stamp set called Beary Best Friends. What a great idea to keep them happy!!
I started with the empty plain silver tin, covered it with a piece of Old Olive Cardstock (front & back), using the Scallop Border Punch I scalloped a piece of Pretty in Pink Cardstock and adhered that to the front of the tin next to the Old Olive Cardstock. I like to use the Anywhere Glue Stick to adhere my cardstock to the tins after using our Sanding Blocks to ruff up the surface. Using a piece of the Pawsitively Prints DSP I layered that ontop of the cardstock. One tin I used my Crop-A-Dile and punched holes in the back of the tin for my 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon to make a handle. My other tin I just wrapped a piece of the same ribbon around the whole tin itself. This ribbon is secured under the cardstock on the backside and under the bear on the front so the little ones will not lose it. Using my Stampin' Up! Bear Bigz Die with my Big Shot I cut out my bear in Close to Cocoa & Creamy Caramel (I ended up liking the Creamy Caramel Bear the best). For the eyes, nose and mouth I just put some scraps of cardstock behind the bear and taped them down. You can use any colors you like. After making the bears I needed to dress them up so I used the Stampin' Up! Beary Essentials Bigz Die & Stampin' Up! Beary Girl Sizzlits Die. We also have dies to dress them up as boys, Santa Claus, Witches and Pumpkins!! Too stinkin' cute!!
For the fun activity inside the tin I stamped several images of the stamp set called Beary Best Friends along with the Beary Nice Wishes onto pieces of Whisper White Cardstock using Black Stazon Ink. I then punched them with my Crop-A-Dile, added the silver ring, tied on the 5/8" Old Olive & 1/4" Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon and then added a tag using the Seal of Pawthenticity Stamp Set.
For the pouch of crayons I cut out a piece of Old Olive Cardstock using the Card, Petal Bigz Die using my Big Shot along with the Standard Premium Crease Pad. You then fold in the left & right sides then fold up the bottom fold and adhere. I covered my front with a piece of Pawsitively Prints DSP, wrapped both ribbons around the pouch and added the tag using the Seal of Pawthenticity Stamp Set. These make great little pouches for all kinds of things!!
I am sure these little kits will keep the kiddos busy for hours!! Make sure you check out the other ladies in this awesome group to see what they altered today.Have a great day!!
