Late Night Stampers Challenge #22-Embossing

It is time for another Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group Challenge and this week it is all about Embossing. You can either dry emboss or heat emboss, which ever one you want to tackle!!! But why stop at just one type?? Why not do both!!! That is what I did last night when I was playing around with this challenge. I actually first tried the dry embossing (bottom card) then I tried my hand at the heat embossing (top card). AND I also am going to try and showcase stamp sets that are making their final current call meaning they are on the Last Chance List and will be gone forever with the release of the brand new Stampin' Up! Catalog July 1st. This always makes me sad to see great stamp sets say good-bye but then again that means lots more great stamp sets are coming!!!!!

Now onto the challenge at hand. This weeks challenge is brought to you by Tammy and Stephanie and it is all about Embossing!!! I hope lots of you will join us for this awesome challenge!! If you are not yet a member of this incredible Yahoo Group go HERE and sign up for FREE!!!
Now for my first card. This card uses Heat Embossing. I heat embossed the ship, tug boat, heart and smoke clouds. This card also uses Dry Embossing too. I used the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I Texture Plate with my Big Shot to emboss behind the ship and the waves. I also used the Bella Birds DSP*, Pink Pirouette & Brocade Blue Cardstock, Brocade Blue 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Black Hemp Twine*, Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Slit Punch, Stampin' Write Markers and the now retiring stamp set called Boatloads of Love*. I actually just got this stamp set so this is the first time I have inked it up!! Let me tell you I had so much fun with this set and will miss it!!!!

This card is my example of Dry Embossing. Like I said earlier in my post I am showcasing stamp sets that are leaving us. AND I found yet another new great blog called Stampin 411. This blog is all about basic instructions for stampin in style and of course challenges!!! Their first challenge is actually a sketch challenge and you all know that is my favorite type of challenge so I just had to play along!!!

And my take on this sketch:

This card uses the Washington Apple DSP*, Riding Hood Red* & Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Riding Hood Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon*, Ticket Punch, the now retiring stamp set called In Good Form*, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker and my Big Shot with the Stampin' Up! Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die.

Here is a close up of the Dry Embossing. It looks so cool in person!!!!

I hope you all have liked what I came up with for this challenge and will join in on the fun we have over at Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group!!! Make sure you check out this POST for more information on all the retiring products!!! They will only be available until the end of June or while supplies last!!!

Have a great day!!
