Here is a birthday party invitation I made for my son, Griffen's, 9th birthday party he had this past October. Everything I used here is Stampin' Up! product but the stamp sets are retired. I believe the baseball stamp set is called Home Run and I can't think of the name of the background stamp.I wanted to show you this invitation I made because right now we are needing lots of prayers for Griffen. He was in a freak accident last night at our hometown high school basketball game. He was being a boy and messing around with a friend behind the bleachers and fell onto a rod iron stack. He has a "knife like" stab wound on his back. It is on his left hand side below his kidney. We are really lucky it did not go in 2-3" higher because it would have hit a kidney or 2-3" lower because it would have hit his pelvis bone and shattered it. After being taken to the ER at our local county hospital he was taken by ambulance to St Mary's Hospital in Evansville to their PICU. He arrived there around 2am and was then taken into surgery after the surgeon accessed the wound and decided he wanted to sew him up and wait til morning to re-CAT Scan him. The main problem we are dealing with is seeing if anything injured his bowel/colon and of course infection since this was not a clean stake. So far today Griffen is showing great improvement and tomorrow morning the surgeon is going to access him again and he is pretty sure he will be on the road to recovery AND finally be able to eat something.
Griffen is awake and aware of everything going on and just wants to heal so he can go home. Please say a prayer for him and keep him in your thoughts. I will try and keep everyone up to date on his progress and am sure he will be back to normal really soon.

Every kid plays under the bleachers at basketball games but how many actually have something terrible happen? So sorry that Griffen is hurting! He is in my prayers for a quick recovery. Blessings to you, too!

oh my goodness, having a 9 yo son also, a mother's worse fear- prayers and thoughts with you and hopefully he will be home soon.
