A weekend with the girls!!

Yep that's right!!! We got together this past weekend to get some stamping done and boy did we stamp and eat and drink and laugh and stamped some more and ate some more and drank some more and laughed some more and I could go on and on and on!!!!
Kelly and I decided last month that we needed to lock ourselves in our scrapbook room to get ALL the swaps done that we signed up for for Convention that is at the end of July. If you head over to Splitcoast Stampers they have a whole forum just for Stampin' Up Convention Swaps you can participate in. Well Kelly and I signed up for several and we were starting to feel the pressure to get them done!!! We decided to get together for a whole weekend and "lock" ourselves in and get them done!!
My mom and dad have an awesome house by the lake with two stories that are completely done so I asked if we could use the basement for the entire weekend and they said "yes"!!! We were sooooo excited to be able to scrap without being interrupted by kids, husbands, the phone and house work. We ended up asking another one of our girlfriends, Nicole, to join us since she didn't have any other plans. This weekend started on Friday night and went until Sunday night. We made this a "lock in" so we could get all our work done. There was no coming and going since my parents live so far out of town so we brought our PJ's, food and I believe everything we own to stamp and scrap!!!!
Boy did we bring the stamps!!!
Of course there was "adult drinks" too!!!

My work space

Me!!!

Nicole and Kelly working away!!

We will definitly be doing this again!!!! We got soooooo much done and now I think I can relax a little about my swaps for convention!!! How about you Kel??

Hello!

Here is another take on the faux tiling technique using the exact colors and card layout as this card I did earlier in the week. All I did was change up the stamp set using Simply Circles this time. I had some "prep" cardstock left over from a cancelled workshop last week but did not want another "Thanks" card since I have so many of those kinds of cards laying around. I think it turned out great!! I love the fact that you can take the exact same card/colors and only change the stamp set and it still looks awesome!!

Wedding Gift Box

I found this video tutorial on Angie's blog called Stampin' Academy. She comes up with the greatest projects using all Stampin' Up products!!! I just love checking out her blog often to see what video tutorial she has come up with. Make sure you check her out too!!
I just fell in love with this gift box and thought it would be perfect for a gift card wrapped in tissue paper as a wedding gift/shower gift. I used the Spring Silhouettes Designer Series Paper, Sweet Celebrations stamp set, Scallop Punch and my 1 3/8", 1 1/4" and 1/2" Circle Punches. Too cute!!!!!

Independence Day

Isn't this card just the bomb??!! Well I think it is and I didn't even design it!!! Here is the low down on this card. I have this stamp set called Independence Day and my good friend and downline, Kelly, borrowed it to do her swaps for convention. Well I wanted to use it this past weekend at a workshop because I wanted to show this set because of the upcoming holiday. So I called Kelly and asked her if I can "borrow" it (hee hee) and she said sure!! (we are both laughing at this point) I then went on and asked if she wanted to come up with a make'n take for me to showcase this awesome stamp set and she said sure!! This is the card she came up with for my make'n take. Isn't it awesome??? I just love it and now I am going to make up several of these cards to send out for the holiday.

Thanks Kelly!!!!
You Rock!!

Thanks card

For my last workshop this past weekend I wanted to showcase a card using a stamp set out of the Occasions Mini which will be going away at the end of June. I will sure miss this Mini!!!!!! I love about everything in it!!!!!
On this card I used Live Your Dream stamp set along with the Chocolate Chip Polytwill Ribbon. I also showed everyone how you do the Faux Tiling I found on Splitcoaststampers website. It is a pretty easy technique to do. I took my white cardstock cut to size, my scoring blade on my trimmer and scored my cardstock every 1/2" and then turned my cardstock one turn and scored my cardstock every 1/2" again. When you are done you end up with a piece of cardstock with little squares all over it. I then stamped my images on the carstock (make sure you keep your cardstock with they indented lines facing up) and then using a spone I rubbed Soft Sky all over the cardstock. I think it turned out pretty neat!!!!!

A Sketch Challenge #1

On Got Sketch 101 before our class began the ladies gave us some challenges to do to get us ready for class to start. This layout is my take on the sketch challenge #1 they gave us. I just love how it turned out!!!! I used the LeJardin Designer Series Paper, River Rock cardstock, a current hostess only stamp set called Spring Solitude, the Taffy Alphabet and River Rock Double Stitched Ribbon. I used my 1 3/8" circle punch to make the huge scallop paper. I punched out circles and adhered them to the back side of my pattern paper. Sooooo easy!!!!

Of course I said "YES" right away since first, it was a book about scrapbooking and second, they sent it to me FREE!!!!! Well I read it (I couldn't put it down) and decided to spread the wealth with my fellow blog readers. So all you need to do is leave me a comment to this post telling me if you LOVE to read or not and on June 20th at noon (my time) I will randomly pick a number and that number of post will be the lucky winner of the book along with a jumbo clip bookmark I made. This book was awesome!!!! I could so relate to the main character and how she found so many good friends through scrapbooking. I couldn't put this book down!!! This author kept the story going and kept me wanting more!!!! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good book.

Sketch #1

This is the layout I did using our very first sketch from my online class I am taking over at Got Sketch 101. Go check it out!!!! I am really loving this class and it has gotten me back in the mood to scrapbook. There for awhile I was only doing cards or 3-D items and my scrapbooking was taking a backseat. Now I can't wait for the sketches to show up in our class!!!!
For this layout I used the Berry Bliss Designer Series Paper and my sewing machine!!!! I just LOVE to sew on my pages!!!!!! I used some OnBoard Accents, covered them with pattern paper and sanded the edges. Also, I dug out some matching buttons to finish off the page!!!

Girls Night Out and some Sex and the City!!!

We had a great time last night with just "the girls" eating, drinking and seeing an awesome movie!!!! I won't be discussing the movie for those of you that haven't seen it. I don't want to ruin anything for you. So if you haven't seen this movie I really suggest you go see it!!!! It is a great movie for a girls night out!!!!!

Nicole, Kelly, me and my sister, Hillory, (not pictured because she is taking the picture) went to Los Bravos for dinner and some drinks before heading over to the movie theater to meet my mom (my dad did not want to see this "chic flick") to see this movie. We had a great time at dinner laughing so hard and having fun. Our waiter I think was tickled with us!!!! Girls, we need to do this more often!!!!!!!!!

And by the way do you all like my new hairdo???? I really chopped it off!!!!

You're The Man Card

Here is another card I made for Father's Day using the same stamp set called Dad's Day. I am really loving this stamp set!!!! I also used this on two parties I had last week for the make 'n take. We used the Western Sky Designer Series Paper and the stamp-a-ma-jig. Everyone was freaked out about having to use the stamp-a-ma-jig when I pulled it out BUT after I demonstrated it they all calmed down!!!LOL!!!! I did however sale one to five out of eight people. And the other three have it on their list!!!! Here is a video showing you how to use this awesome tool: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

Fresh Cuts!

This is the brand spanking new stamp set called Fresh Cuts that will be in the new Fall/Winter Catalog that came DIE CUT!!!! Also, pictured is the new lazer-cut notecard. All I did was stamp the main image in So Saffron and then onto the notecard and punched out the petals that were lazer-cut. I adhered the So Saffron Designer Series Prints Paper to the back side and scalloped the edge with my corner rounder. Too cute!!!!!!
Let me know if you are interested in purchasing this stamp set ($21.95) and coordinating notecards (Reg $8.95 but on sale now for $5.00) until the end of June.

Another Father's Day Card

Isn't this shirt too cool??? I found a tutorial on how to do this shirt fold on Cambria's blog and just had to try it!!!! I made this one for my FIL for Father's Day after I used it at two parties last week to show off this tutorial. The paper is the East Coast Prep Designer Series Paper and the stamp set called Dad's Day found on page 112 of the current catalog. I just got this stamp set and just love it!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day yesterday!!!

A Gift Bag

Isn't this gift bag too cute?? I found this gift bag on Heather's blog and just had to make one. I changed it up a bit to keep it more simple but in all it is about the same. I used Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, Old Olive and Ruby Red ink, More Mustard Designer Series Prints Paper and Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon. I think it turned out too cute!!! I used this bag for a gift bag swap I held last night at my monthly get together crop. We had 11 ladies participate and boy did we get some great decorated gift bags all ready to use!!!! Can't wait to do this swap again!!

Father's Day Pocket Card

This is a card I made from one of the card sketches I got from my online class I am taking over at Got Sketch 101. The classes have not even begun but we have been given several additional sketches and challenges to play with before class starts tomorrow. I just can't wait!!!!! I just LOVE working with sketches!!!!! This sketch was for a pocket card and this is the FIRST time I have even attempted to make a pocket card and I just love how it turned out!!!!
I used my brand new stamp set called Dad's Day. LOVING this stamp set!!!!! I used the quote stamp out of this stamp set on the bottom left hand side of the card but in these pictures you can't really see it. I also used the Happy Dad's Day stamp and punched it out with our Designer Label Punch. I colored the stamp with my Real Red and Tempting Turquoise markers and backed it with a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock I punched out using our 1 3/8" Circle Punch. I used the East Coast Prep Pattern Paper, More Mustard 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon and the big flower out of the Die-cut Blooms pack that is in the Occasions Mini that is now extended to the end of June. I punched another flower out of More Mustard cardstock using the 5-Petal Punch. The smaller flower I punched out of Tempting Turquoise cardstock with a retired punch called Daisy. I layered the flowers on top of each other and attached them together with a More Mustard Brad. I made the scallop along the folded top with our Corner Rounder Punch.

Have a great day!!!!
