MS001
A fellow blogger, MacKenzie, has started doing sketch challenges and I thought I would try my hand at her first sketch. I really liked how this card turned but there is a story behind it!! A good friend of mine was on the fence about purchasing this stamp set, Always. Well I showed it to her today and let her play with the images with some black ink and white cardstock. She immediately fell in love with it!!!! See she loves simple, elegant images and when she was stamping these images in black on white cardstock she fell in love!!!! So she ordered this set right then!! When I got home I thought I would play around with this set again too. I pulled out my Close to Cocoa ink and Designer Series Prints paper and started playing with MacKenzie's sketch. This is the card I came up with and I am dedicating it to my good friend Amy.
GSGC01
I just recently found this new awesome blog called Great Swaps Girls and they are starting to post challenges. This one is a color challenge they posted Monday. You had to use the colors Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Regal Rose. First thing was I knew I wanted to play with this stamp set, Always. It is one I just got with my Sale-A-Bration rewards from Stampin' Up! and I just love it!!!! I think this one went together pretty well. Let me know what you think!!!
Baby Photo Albums
Aren't these just the cutest things ever?? I found these little photo albums at our local "Big Lots" for only a $1!!! Can you believe this awesome find I found? They actually are Hallmark albums listed for $10 when Hallmark was selling them. Anyway I used Stampin' Up's new rub ons and matching ribbon to decorate the outsides.

My newest softball player
Isn't she the cutest thing ever?? My baby, Jordan who is now 6, started T-ball last night for the first time. She was so cute out there running the bases and running after the ball!!! I just had to share this picture of her I caught while she was on base waiting for one of her fellow playmates to hit the ball. Soooo cute!!!!!
Color Inspiration #6
This is Kristina's color inspiration #6 she posted on her blog the other day and boy was this one a HARD one!!!! I have not worked with Sahara Sand yet and it was HARD!!!! This is what I came up with:
Do you like? I did use Sahara Sand as the base for the card. I then took a strip of Wild Wasabi cardstock and used my corner rounder to make the scallops along the side of the strip. I then layered a piece of Pumpkin Pie pattern paper out of the Bali Breeze Pattern Paper pack on top of a piece of So Saffron cardstock. Using my small and large star punches I punched out some stars and layered them on top of another piece of Sahara Sand cardstock. Stamped my saying in Pumpkin Pie ink and finished the card with a piece of Pumpkin Pie 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon. Gotta love ribbon!!!!April 23, 2008
Life is Good, again!
I told you I was going to play a little longer with this stamp set before I headed off to work!!! I am just loving this stamp set with the Basic Gray but this time I pulled out my new Flower Fusions and layered them on top of each other and attached them together with a Rhinestone Brad. Can you say BLING!!!! Love it!!!
Life is Good!
Don't you just love this stamp set?? It is so much fun to play with. When the new catalog came out in January this stamp set, Text & Texture, was on my wish list right away and yes, I ordered it right away but I just now got it out and started playing with it!!!!! I wanted to try something a little different and do a "simple" card. I really like how this one turned out!!! I used Whisper White for the base card and stamped my image in Basic Gray and tied a piece of the new Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon to the card. Soooooo yummy!!!!! I thought it needed a little color so I pulled out my Boho Blossoms punch and punched my flowers out of scrap cardstock I had laying on my table and used a silver brad to attach them together. I adhered the flower set to my card using our Mini Glue Dots. I think I am going to play a little bit longer before I head out to work!!!!!

Scissor Bling!!!!
Gotta LOVE BLING!!!! My girlfriend, Nicole, makes the most awesome jewelry and just started making these scissor blings for all your different sized scissors. Go check out her blog and view all her awesome jewelry and you just might end up getting some for yourself!!!! If you do let her know I sent you her way!!! By the way she also has FREEBIES she gives away each month on her blog!!!! What a great gal!!!

Beate's WSC44
Beate does alot of different challenges on her blog and this one is her weekend sketch challenge "WSC44" from this past weekend. I thought I would start doing some of the challenges out there in blog land and maybe in Splitcoaststampers land too. When I do decide to do a challenge I will always upload it here and link to the blog/website I found it on. I thought this sketch was neat so I wanted to try it.

Earthquake in our neck of the woods???
That's right we were woken up at 5:37 a.m. to an earthquake!!!! Can you believe it?? We don't have earthquakes in our neck of the woods, right? WRONG!!!
Our bed started shaking and my husband and I jolted straight up in bed and my husband was like "what the heck??"!!! He got up and went into the kitchen because we had left the sliding glass door open (screen door-nice weather) to see if a tornado was coming or if it was just windy out. The plates in our hutch in the kitchen was going crazy and he said there was no wind and it was still nice out. He came back to bed and I told him (half a sleep) that is was probably an earthquake. What was I thinking!!!! We don't have earthquakes!!!! Well I guess we do because when we did get up this morning it was all over the news that we had had a 5.2 earthquake. I can't believe it!! All is okay with us and our area. I hope everyone else it doing fine and doesn't have any major damage.

Color Inspiration #5
Kristina has an AWESOME blog and she does these color inspiration challenges where she posts a picture and translates the colors into Stampin' Up! colors. She sets a deadline for everyone to post a comment and a link to our own blog with our creation on it. This time she is only going to post a link to 20 different blogs/galleries so others can visit to view that person's work and get inspired to create!!! Well I thought I would try this challenge for the first time (since this is her 5th one) and boy was it really hard for me!!!!! As you can see I ended up making three different cards because I was just not happy with mine. I think I decided I really like this first one I did (which I did last). What do you think??
On this card I used the Taffeta Ribbon in Bashful Blue. I tied it into a jumbo brand onto the three layers of punched out images from the Designer Label, Large Oval and Small Oval.
